Haslinda Binti Hassan is a 40 year old widow from Pahang whose husband passed away due to bone cancer in 2013. She is a very hardworking woman who tries her best to help her family by running a small business of selling traditional Malay dishes.
– Haslinda’s late husband left 3 children aged 8, 13 and 14 years old in her care whom she had to raise all by herself. Her small family currently lives in the house which she inherited from her family.
– Haslinda’s condition worsened when one of her children got diagnosed with chronic tonsillitis which costs her RM. 200 per hospital visit.
HER CHALLENGE
Haslinda is an expert in making Malay traditional pastries and hot dishes which she sends to the small shop run by her extended family to be sold. She manages to earn a maximum of RM 35 in a day. This meager income is strained further as it is used to support her childrenās school expenses, basic grocery and other utility bills.
Haslinda wants to be able to cook more so that she can sell larger quantities and meet the demands of her customers. She is restricted by her minimal equipment which hinders her cooking capacity to produce more.
THE SOLUTION
Haslinda is left with hardly anything for her family and daily needs after deducting the monthly expenses and hospital payments for her child. Despite wanting to produce more pastries to sell, she is held back because of financial and technical constraints.
Through your donations, Haslinda will have the opportunity to expand her business to fulfill the basic needs of her family. Your donations will help her to buy better tools and equipment to increase her daily output as well as get more raw material.
To make sure that your donations reach their maximum potential, Haslinda will undergo a special training course that will help teach and enhance her skills in running a business. Our aim at GlobalSadaqah is to turn people like Haslinda from beneficiaries to benefactors by circulating good in the Ummah.

The Messenger of Allah ļ·ŗ said: It is better for one among you to bring a load of firewood on his back and give charity out of it (and satisfy his own need) and be independent of people, than that he should beg from people, whether they give him anything or refuse him. Verily the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin (charity) with your dependents. [Muslim]
Haslinda is a living example of the hadith of the Prophet ļ·ŗ regarding those who try to work to earn a Halal and respectable income instead of begging others. At GlobalSadaqah our mission is to empower such people so that they go from becoming beneficiaries to benefactors themselves. This is the core of our mission to Circulate Good.
